About these terms
These terms apply to your use of cognitolab.net and founder.cognitolab.net (the "sites") and to the WordPress plugins published by CognitoLab (the "plugins"), including free versions and paid Pro add-ons. CognitoLab is operated by Ivan Omelianenko, a private individual based in Ukraine ("we", "us"). By using the sites or the plugins, or by buying a license, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of them.
Using the sites
You may use the sites for any lawful purpose. Please don't attempt to disrupt them, bypass their security or rate limits, or misuse the contact form or live demos (for example, to send spam or automated requests). The information on the sites is provided for general purposes and may change without notice.
Free plugins
Our free plugins are distributed through WordPress.org under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPLv2+). You may use them on any number of sites, and your rights to use, study, modify, and redistribute their code are governed by that license.
Pro plugins and licenses
Purchases
Pro add-ons are sold through Freemius, Inc., which acts as our reseller and handles checkout, payment processing, taxes, and invoicing. Freemius's own terms also apply to the purchase itself. Prices are shown on each product page and at checkout; applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
What a license gives you
Pro plugin code is also licensed under GPLv2+. What you pay for is a license key, which entitles you to activate the Pro features, receive updates, and get support for the number of sites included in your plan, for as long as the license is active. A license key is for your own use (or your clients' sites, within your plan's site limit) and may not be shared publicly, resold, or transferred without our permission.
Subscriptions, lifetime licenses and trials
- Subscriptions (monthly or annual) renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Lifetime licenses are paid once and include updates and support for as long as we continue to develop and sell that product.
- Free trials, where offered, let you use the Pro features at no cost for the stated period. If a trial is set up to continue into a paid plan and you don't cancel before it ends, your paid plan starts automatically.
When a license expires or is cancelled, you are no longer entitled to updates or support, and Pro features that require an active license may stop working. Your content is not deleted.
Price changes
We may change prices for new purchases and future renewals. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Third-party services and AI features
Some plugins (such as Fettle and IntelliDesc) can connect to an AI provider using an API key you supply. You are responsible for your API keys, for any charges from that provider, and for complying with its terms. AI-generated suggestions can be inaccurate or incomplete: review every suggestion before you apply or publish it.
Automated checks, including Fettle's accessibility checks, cover a defined set of rules and cannot certify that a website complies with WCAG, accessibility legislation, or any other standard. You remain responsible for your own site's compliance.
Products sold elsewhere
Products bought on third-party marketplaces (for example, OpenCart extensions sold on opencartcode.com) are governed by that marketplace's terms. TavernMind is provided under its own terms at tavern-mind.com.
Support
We provide support for active Pro licenses by email at [email protected], on a reasonable-efforts basis. Support covers the plugin's own features; it does not include custom development or fixing issues caused by other plugins, themes, or hosting.
Disclaimer
The sites and plugins are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we don't guarantee that the plugins will be error-free or work with every theme, plugin, or hosting setup. Please keep backups of your site.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the sites or plugins. Our total liability for any claim relating to a Pro license is limited to the amount you paid for that license in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Intellectual property
The CognitoLab name and logo, the product names, and the content of the sites belong to us. Plugin code is licensed to you under GPLv2+ as described above; that license does not grant rights to our names or logos.
Suspension
We may deactivate a license key that is shared publicly, resold, used beyond its site limit, or obtained fraudulently.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were last revised. Changes apply from that date and do not affect a period you have already paid for.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
