Which AI powers IntelliDesc?
Google Gemini exclusively — called directly via Google's API, with results grounded using Google Search for factual accuracy.
Do I need my own API key?
Yes, a free Google Gemini API key from Google AI Studio — the app won't generate content without one.
What Shopify permissions does it need?
Only read_products and write_products — no access to customer or order data.
What languages are supported?
8 languages are exposed in the UI: your store's default locale, English, Ukrainian, Polish, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.
Does it overwrite my existing descriptions?
Only if you explicitly enable "Overwrite existing data" — by default it only fills in blank fields.
Is this a new product?
It's a rebuild of our WooCommerce plugin, IntelliDesc for WooCommerce, ported to a native Shopify embedded app — currently on hold before a public launch.
